Transforming your customer economics by thinking advocacy first

In this episode we spoke with Andy Cockburn and Tim Boughton, co founders of Mention Me, who shared their experiences of setting up and running a company centred around customer love.

During our chat we discuss how brands can harness customer advocacy to transform their economics and drive new revenue streams through their biggest fans.

About Andy

Andy Cockburn is CEO and Co-Founder of Mention Me, the Customer Advocacy platform empowering brands to turn fans into a powerful growth driver. Since co-founding the business with Tim in 2013, he’s scaled Mention Me to employ more than 100 advocacy experts who have delivered over USD $1.8bn in revenue for Puma, Charlotte Tilbury and Farfetch and other major brands worldwide.

Prior to Mention Me, Andy was the UK Managing Director of HomeAway, the world's largest market-place for US vacation rentals (that floated on the NASDAQ for $3bn), and formerly the founder and CEO of Wigadoo, a technology start-up in the social payment space.

He has an MBA from INSEAD and MA from Cambridge University.

About Tim

Tim is the CTO and Co-founder of Mention Me. He has been responsible for building and scaling the platform behind Mention Me alongside Andy over the last decade.

Tim has a Masters in Engineering from the University of Cambridge. He started his career in consulting, working for PA Consulting building some of the first web applications during the 2000 dot com boom. He first caught the bug for business-building at HomeAway where he spent 9 years as European CTO integrating the technology across 18 acquisitions in a roll up of the vacation rental industry.

Tim has been involved in marketing technology from the very earliest days of SEO, PPC and web analytics and is fascinated by the disruptive effects that technology can have on marketing in all it's forms. Tim is working alongside the product teams at Mention Me to realise the vision for advocacy and customer love that we've developed.
