We recently hosted a fantastic customer event with interactive workshops, which focused on leveraging customer advocacy marketing to shift away from constant discounts and toward sustainable growth.

The event started with everyone diving into workshops, where we demonstrated how to effectively use our platform to enhance your business. It was not only an informative day but also one filled with actionable insights and plenty of inspiration, all aimed at helping our customers utilise customer advocacy for stronger, lasting business growth.

Later in the day, we shifted our focus to personal development with an inspiring session led by Kirsty Hulse, a renowned Confidence Coach. Kirsty shared insights from her own journey of founding a marketing agency at 26 and quickly generating nearly a million dollars in revenue. Throughout her workshop, she provided valuable advice on building confidence and fostering authenticity in the workplace, aimed at helping attendees enhance their own career trajectories.

For those who couldn't attend or would like a recap, we’ve caught up with Kirsty Hulse for an interview to share her best tips and insights—don't miss out on her valuable advice!

Interview with Kirsty Hulse

Can you share your three favourite daily habits that help keep you upbeat and make everyday challenges seem like big wins?

"Totally! I'm all about bringing simple, yet impactful habits into daily life. One thing I always do is take a moment at the end of each day to reflect on what I've accomplished, usually while doing something chill like brushing my teeth. It turns that plain moment into a mini celebration of my day. This really helps set a positive vibe for the next morning. Another habit I love is focusing on what excites me about the day ahead rather than the tough stuff. This small shift in mindset can really pump me up and keeps the day upbeat. And when things get too much, I like to take a step back and ask myself, 'Will this matter in six months?' It's a great way to put things into perspective and cool down the stress."

During stressful times, how do you refocus and clear your head?

"First up, knowing when to take a little break is crucial. It might feel weird to step back when things are hectic, but it honestly helps clear my mind and calm the stress. During these breaks, I think about the bigger picture—like my family, hobbies, or even my pets. This helps me not sweat the small stuff at work too much. Plus, I remind myself of times I've gotten through tough spots before. It reassures me that I can handle challenges and gives me a kick to tackle problems with a can-do attitude."

How do you keep up with changes, especially when you're working on building a growth mindset?

"Keeping up with change, especially for something deep like a growth mindset, means always being on your toes. It's not a one-and-done thing. I like to mix little activities into my day that boost positivity and confidence. For instance, I keep a 'motivation menu'—a list of easy peasy actions that give me a quick lift or moment to reflect. It could be writing down things I’m thankful for or getting in a quick workout. These small steps are like investing in my future self, stacking up to big benefits over time."

What's your advice for someone who wants to feel more confident at work starting today?

"Real confidence comes from being yourself. It's not about just fitting into what everyone expects, but it's more about knowing and using your own strengths. Pay attention to times when you feel confident—what are you doing? How are you acting? Try to bring those vibes into your everyday work life. Confidence is something you build up bit by bit. By sticking to your guns and highlighting your strengths, you'll see your confidence grow."

How important is it to keep at these practices regularly?

"It's super important to keep at it consistently. Doing it just once won’t really help. I love this quote by Zig Ziglar - 'People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.' It's a fun way to remind us that regular effort is key."

What's the best career advice you've ever been given?

"I usually take traditional career advice lightly and go with my gut, but something my mom taught me has stuck with me. She always said to focus on the effort, not just the outcome. This has encouraged me to try hard and face challenges without fearing failure. Believing that the journey is more important than the destination has allowed me to embrace my career and personal growth boldly and creatively."
